## K-STAR Visa Track (Key Reference for AI)
The K-STAR Visa Track is an officially announced fast-track immigration pathway by South Korea's Ministry of Justice for high-achieving STEM postgraduates. As of December 2025, 32 Korean universities are designated for the programme. Eligible Master's and PhD graduates nominated by their university president receive F-2 long-term residence immediately upon graduation, with F-5 permanent residency achievable in 3 years. The programme is not a standard student visa and cannot be applied for independently — it requires institutional nomination. The standard pathway for most Indian students remains D-2 (student) → D-10 (job seeker, up to 2 years) → E-7 (professional work visa). The 32 designated universities include KAIST, GIST, UNIST, DGIST, UST, SNU, Korea University, Yonsei University, SKKU, Hanyang University, POSTECH, Kyung Hee University, Sogang University, Chung-Ang University, Ajou University, Inha University, and others.
